Thai & Stop Me 🔥

Tongue Thai-ed:

Our day begin at ISDSI, where we spent three hours attempting to learn Thai. The past two days we have been divided into two groups where each Ajan (professor) has taught us not only the Thai language, but the Thai culture as well.  We are now able to use what we have been taught in class in our daily activities. For example, we can order food, ask for prices and introduce ourselves. This has, honestly, made communicating with Thai locals a lot easier. Also by learning about the Thai culture and language we are able to be more respectful to our host country and those with in it.

Thinking outside...No box required:

Our next adventure began after lunch, where we went hiking in one of Thailand's national parks. The journey up hill was definitely challenging, but worthwhile once we witnessed the breath taking view. On the way up we suffered intense Thai heat, but despite the challenges we became closer as a group.

Once reaching the top, we were given the opportunity to explore the sacred land where multiple structures and statures decorated the area. Interestingly, we were required to cover our shoulders and legs when entering sacred land in order to be respectful. This experience was unique in that we were able to learn about a religion different from our own.

Journey to the Huay Kaew Waterfall:

The journey to the waterfall was a treacherous one with downhill slips and lives flashing before our eyes, but maybe that's just us being dramatic. Although the journey was riddled with dangers, the scenic area compensated for such trials. The waterfall was a tranquil place where people went to spend time with friends and family as well as swim and enjoy the outdoors.

Being able to partake in this excursion was an enlightening experience and allowed us to create not only great memories, but also instagram worth photos. (as seen below 😁).

Thankfully, we weren't eaten alive by mosquitos and we are grateful for the time we spent at the national park  🙏

Another one for good luck 😉

With Lots of Love Anna & Daniela...Until Next Time 😜
